Soon Young ‘Sharon’ Lee

Our mission is to improve the body, mind, and spirit through Korean traditional dance and music.

Soon Young Lee, an internationally recognized and award-winning choreographer, brings over 50 years of experience to KTDAC.

She trained in classical Korean traditional dance and music at Chung Ang University in Seoul and performed with the National Dance Company of Korea.

Lee has performed across Asia, Europe, and Latin America; at major events like the 1994 World Cup Opening Ceremonies; and for numerous Heads of State.

Her contributions have been honored and recognized by the Consul General of the Republic of Korea, the city of Los Angeles, and the Obama Administration.

Lee holds exclusive certifications to teach dances officially designated as Intangible Cultural Property by South Korea's Cultural Heritage Administration.

The Korean Traditional Dance Arts Center was founded by dance loving people with a desire to preserve and share traditional Korean culture.

Today, the arts center strives to educate the public, serve the local community and beyond, and facilitate international cultural exchange by learning, sharing, and creating. KTDAC is able to continue its important work at its studio in Los Angeles and performances around the world thanks to the efforts of its members and the dance community.
